Health Protection Audit (HELPA) has now been introduced by Nicos Rossos Ltd in association with The Apollonion Private Hospital Nicosia which encompassess an extensive and comprehensive check-up plan which provides:
- In one morning in about 3 hours 23 Health Checks - Your will no longer waste time visiting several Medical Centres - All tests are conducted by experienced Specialists - The co-ordinating Consulting Specialist to attend to you has not only followed similar tests in major Centres overseas but has undergone these Screening Tests himself, gaining first-hand experience - Modern Equipment will be used - The latest most advanced methods will be applied
Health Checks:
a) Are designed to prevent health risks by identifying existing or potential hazards early, recommending the necessary measures b) Grant us the peace of mind that we are in good health c) Most persons audited are assured about their good health. If any problems are diagnosed usually they are of minor significance that can easily and effectively be dealt with. Tests Common to both Men and Women:
- Full physical examination - Medical Hisotry and Lifestyle Questionnaire - Test for the strength of the muscles - Joint flexibility of the bones - Body mass index showing relativity of height to weight - Calculation of percentage of fat in the body - Analysis of dietary equilibrium to suggest improvements - Visual Acuity - Hearing Examination - Chest X-ray every 2 years - Blood pressure, pulse rate assessment - Resting Electrocardiogram (ECG) - Treadmill exercise ECG (recommended for those 35 and over or younger persons with family hisory risk factors or personal cases) - Spirometry, for lung function assessment - Urine Analysis for recognition of any kidney disease - Full Blood Count, ESR, Blood sugar, Cholesterol, (HDL, LDL), Triglycerides, Kidney and Liver function - Thyroid function test - Faecal Occult Blood test - stool test- to recognise disease of the colon - Per rectum examination
Extra Feature An extra feature of HELPA is that it applies the resting ECG together with the Stress ECG-Electrocardiogram for all persons aged 35 and over. This is because the exercise ECG has been found to provide more information than the resting ECG and therefore becomes particularly useful for ages 35 and over and younger persons with family or personal problems
Tests only for men - PSA blood test to recognise prostate disease - Testicular examination to recognise disease of the testicles
Tests only for women - Clinical breast examination - Mammography to help recognise any breast conditions at an early stage recommended for ages 40 and over or younger women with family history or personal problems - Instruction on Breast Self Awareness - Pap-Test (cervical smear test) to recognise any abnormalities in the cervical cell
Options You have a number of options for tests. Below is a list of some of those options in addition to the above stated tests:
- Bone densitometry for recognition of osteoporosis - Ultrasound with coloured Doppler to ascertain the normal functioning of the heart - Colonoscopy to detect any disease of the colon - Abdominal Ultrasound to detect any problems concerning the abdominal organs - Abdominal Ultrasound Prostate, to ascertain size and function - Abdominal Ultrasound Prostate, to detect any pathological areas
Specialist consultation Will be given after the completion of the tests and you shall have the opportunity to discuss with the Specialist Co-ordinating Doctor any medical or related matters you wish
Health and Lifestyle Reports - Within two weeks you will receive a personal medical report and if you so wish a copy can be sent to your family Doctor - You will also be given a Lifestyle Report with recommendations for improving your well-being - You will further be presented with a guide "Enjoying a Healthy Life" which incorporates features like proper nutrition, exercise, keeping fit, avoiding accidents etc. There is also a chapter to help you to better interpret the results of your tests
